Our next read aloud is here!! I am excited to share with you that we are going to be finishing out the year with the Kevin Henkes story "The Year of Billy Miller". We will be working hard on our questioning during this reading, so stay tuned for some great Before, During, and After questioning strategies.

The other day the children worked together to create some informational writing pieces surrounding a couple of key terms in our science unit. We then worked on using some new apps (Telligami, Do Ink's Green Screen App, and Sock Puppets) to help share our collaboration with a broader audience in a new way. The children have been working hard on their opinion writing to help persuade others about which picture book is the best in all the land. Keep up with our Prezi that will document the journey.
I was looking to redesign the website to be cleaner and more reflective of what was happening inside the classroom. In order to do this I had to evaluate what pieces I was going to include. I felt that the most important element of our classroom documentation was the Twitter feed @sharks160. This element is the piece of our classroom that best documents our day-to-day practices.
My intention with this "A Window into the Room" page is to maintain a blog that allows the website to be more interactive. This way the community can watch as the classroom shares its processes and products. Then, we can engage in a conversation that better reflects the nature of what the children participate in on a regular basis inside the classroom. Let us know what you think. Enjoy. |
